Lets solve our system of equations step by step:
[tex]y=2x-1[/tex] equation (1)
[tex]3x-y=-1[/tex] equation (2)

Step 1. Replace equation (1) in equation (2)
[tex]3x-y=-1[/tex]
[tex]3x-(2x-1)=-1[/tex]
[tex]3x-2x+1=-1[/tex]
[tex]x=-2[/tex] equation (3)

Step 2. Replace equation (3) in equation (1)
[tex]y=2x-1[/tex]
[tex]y=2(-2)-1[/tex]
[tex]y=-4-1[/tex]
[tex]y=-5[/tex]

We can conclude that the correct answer is: A (−2, −5)
