I think they don't; they only interact with free-floating pathogens. B-cells directly bind to free-floating pathogens. B-cells function in the humoral immunity component of the adaptive immune system by secreting antibodies. BCRs allow the B cells to bind to a specific antigen, against which it will initiate an antibody response.
